Requirements:
A distinguished MNC with a strong presence in both Europe and Australia that supports the Manufacturing and Operations of the Specialty Chemicals industry is currently seeking an established Safety Officer to join thier organization. An attractive remuneration package coupled with various opportunities for growth awaits the successful candidate.
The ideal candidate should have a Degree/Diploma in any relevant Engineering or Safety disciplines (any other relevant disciplines welcomed) coupled with at least 2-3 years of prior experience performing a similar role. You must be able to perform a DPA (Designated Person Ashore) role and have performed a CSO role for the organization. Experience in ISM audits an advantage.

- Manage the EHS Department and the Management Representative of the Company’s Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management Systems.
- Preparing budget for EHS Department.
- Interpret applicable Legal, Singapore Standards, Code of Practice & other requirements and implement and provide directions for compliance.
- Develop, maintain and periodically test out emergency response, Organize and conduct CERT audit and other relevant drills.
- Liaise with local authorities for all EHS issues, License renewal and represent the RC/SICA/SORT and other relevant meetings.
- Manage all EHS incident and non-conformance investigations and track corrective and preventive actions to closure.
- Organize risk assessments, site inspections and industrial hygiene and environmental samplings as well as implement or direct risk reduction and control measures.
- Oversee maintenance and periodic testing programs of fire protection, emergency and rescue equipment. Inventory management.
- Conduct and organize EHS audits, trainings, meetings and promotional programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge.
- Establishing EHS objectives and Targets and its management Programme for continual improvement.
- Contractor management on In-house and SDM (Shutdown Maintenance) activities
